An overwhelmed Chef de mission of Team Nigeria, Chinyeaka Ohaa could not hide his emotions when he celebrated two super victories for Team Nigeria at the Rio Olympics.
With Olympic Dream Team’s 2-0 knockout of Denmark and Efe Ajagba’s superlative first round knockout of Trinidad and Tobago’s Nigel Paul, Ohaa was in cloud nine celebrating Nigeria.
With the Dream Team looking good for a medal and Ajagba also looking strong for a medal, Ohaa urged the rest of the Nigerians whose events have not started to ensure victory for Nigeria.
‘’I’m so happy with the victories and I know that Nigerians back home also celebrated these victories. I urge them not to rest on their oars and go for their deserved victories’’, the Chef who has been moving from venue to venue providing support for the athletes said.
However, Ohaa did not forget other athletes whose spirited efforts could not get them to the medal podium. ‘’We’re proud of them. They’ve given their best even though they could not get medals. Some of the athletes even without medals have created landmarks that also placed Team Nigeria on a high. They are worthy Nigerians and we hail them and urge all Nigerian athletes to rally support to the remaining sports and athletes whose events are on the card to ensure victory for Team Nigeria’’.
