Olympic Day celebrates sports and values by bringing together hundreds of thousands of people across the world. Over the last two decades, the event has helped to spread the Olympic ideals to every corner of the world.
In Nigeria, the Nigeria Sport For All Commission (NSFAC) organizes this event nationwide in the month of June but can be shifted due to uncontrollable circumstances
Since inception of the event in 1987, over 50 million Nigerian from all walks of life including children assemble in different stadium nationwide to be part of the event with the executive governors and sponsors flagging off various activities which include 10km walk/walk.
Before the event, popular local musician and traditional display enthralled the audience with their performance in a carnival like atmosphere.
Olympic Day is much more than just a sports event, it is a day for the world to get active, learn about Olympic values and discover new sports.
Based on the three pillars move, learn and discover, National Olympic Committees are organizing sports, cultural and educational activities throughout the world
